The Pesticide Registration and Control Division (PRCD) in the Republic of Ireland updated their Notification application form in December 2024 in order to help applicants in making applications of high quality. Links were added for biocidal notifications to this form to help applicants find websites and subsequent useful information needed to fill out the application form; for example, to the ECHA website to check the correct name of the Active Substance (AS) has been used. The PRCD has added a Fogger/Mist Section (Section 4) for products which use such means of application. For additional information, please see the guidance note on Fogging/Misting.
Moreover, the PRCD has added a “Units” column in the formulation table in Section 10 as units were not being specified and were not identical in all cases to the information on the label. Finally, there is also a useful table in the new section ‘common Issues’ which provides further information for applicants. This new section provides guidance and information on common issues that are causing delays to processing applications. Applicants who familiarise themselves with these issues can avoid application rejection and unnecessary delays for themselves and others.
As of the 10th of February 2025, only applications and Trivial Amendments submitted on the new December 2024 template will be accepted. If you are currently working on an application using the old 2023 template, please ensure this is submitted before the deadline or you will be required to resubmit using the updated notification template.
