European Commission Releases “One Substance, One Assessment” Chemicals Assessment Reform
Last week, the European Commission adopted three legislative proposals under the ‘one substance, one assessment’ concept (1S1A), a key deliverable of the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, where significant tasks will be reallocated between four EU agencies, notably to ensure coherent and transparent assessments of chemicals used in products, including medical devices, toys, food, pesticides and biocides.
