On May 16th, 2024, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has published the highly anticipated proposals for its alternative transitional registration model (ATRm) for UK REACH, in a move that aims to clarify its policy direction for the controversial regulation.
It follows post-Brexit concerns from industry about the exorbitant cost associated with buying or accessing EU hazard data, which would have been necessary to complete the registrations of transitional substances.
Defra is seeking views on the ATRm for the UK REACH (registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals) regulation. Further information can be accessed here:
